Youth & Family Ministry
… to have a personal, meaningful and fun experience of God
Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future. ~ John F. Kennedy
This is done through curriculum which includes stories, craft projects, games and lively discussions, all with the intention of creating an understanding of the principles of Science of Mind and learning to value spiritual practice, in their own way, at their own level.
Each Sunday’s curriculum correlates to the overall theme and monthly/weekly topics that are going on in the entire church. The congruency allows parents and children to discuss the ideas and spiritual tools that are presented so it’s a congruent experience.
Our Youth Ministry extends beyond Sunday morning. Extracurricular activities and community outings are frequently scheduled and designed for fun and friendship.
Our Youth Ministry not only nurtures and educates our children today, it prepares them with valuable tools for tomorrow.
Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility. ~ Kate Douglas Wiggins
Each of the groups has its own age appropriate lesson led by a capable, trained teacher. Our Youth Ministry is offered concurrently with the 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. service and consists of five groups:
- Ladybugs (babies and toddlers up to 3 years)
- Bumble Bees (ages 4, 5 and 6)
- Butterflies (ages 7, 8 and 9)
- Dragonflies (ages 10, 11 and 12)
- F.R.O.G.s (Teens who Fully Rely On God – they meet upstairs)
Your children are more than welcome! When you bring them in, please introduce yourself so we can get to know all our families!
The Youth and Family Ministry Leader is Julie Stone. Please feel free to contact her (775) 826-0566 with any questions you may have.
Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven. ~ Henry Ward Beecher
